Gordon Ramsay plans village pub chain

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is looking to expand his food empire into pubs.

Gordon is understood to be looking to establish a small chain of country pubs offering good food at value for money prices.

Chris Hutcheson, chief executive of Gordon Ramsay Holdings said,"What we are looking at now is a move into pubs that serve food. I don't mean gastro-pubs - I mean good food."

Gordon told The Publican last year that he would consider a move into pubs a means of extending his operation. He said that the casual dining approach of the best food-led pubs was "one of the most interesting areas" of the restaurant trade at the moment.
