Tradition to the fore at trade dinner!

Your NN LVA held their annual Presidents Steak and Kidney Pudding dinner at the Unthank Arms in Norwich on Tuesday 8 January.

The somewhat daunting challenge of eating a 1lb suet pudding or pay a fine to charity was presented to invited sponsors and other key suppliers to the licensed trade.

Outgoing president Nick DeAth told us, No one is really sure where the tradition of the 150-year old dinner came from but its always been a great way for us to say thank you to people from organisations that make such a significant contribution to our commercial well being and who help us provide our 1000+ members throughout Norwich & Norfolk with innovative products and services that in turn make our customers happy.
New chairman Sue Coleman was an invited guest an she shared her thoughts on the evening with us, When I arrived I was a bit apprehensive about the amount of food, given its New Year and all that entails but even though I was one of those who didnt finish the full pudding the camaraderie and tales from the trade made my night one of the best Ive had for ages.

Liz Gaffer from the Licensed Victuallers Trade Charity received a cheque for £2000 from new president Craig McLaren as a result of the NN LVAs charitable work in 2007.
